Dr Angel Trendafilov is an archaeologist with more than 25 years of experience in Bulgaria and New Zealand. In 1998, he graduated with a Master’s degree in Archaeology from the University of Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2018, he completed his PhD in History from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. His experience includes excavations on sites from 6000 BC to 1900 AD. Angel has been approved as an archaeologist by Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga under Section 45 of the HNZPT Act 2014 for assessing and excavating European and Māori sites and producing final reports for this work. Between 2016 and 2021, Angel was part of a bigger consulting company and successfully completed over 150 reports for Heritage New Zealand as an author or co-author for projects in Christchurch and wider Canterbury. Since 2021, working as a sole trader, Angel Trendafilov has been granted more than 60 authorities as a S.45 Archaeologist for five years. This number is growing very steadily. The projects are in Canterbury, Kaikōura, West Coast, Nelson, Mapua, and Golden Bay, and the results include all reports submitted on time and happy clients!
